Senior Director Business Development

Role Overview

This is a senior, hands-on commercial leadership role responsible for building and scaling the European market for biologics, cell therapy, and gene therapy CDMO services. The position operates as a sole regional contributor, with full ownership of market entry, pipeline generation, strategic partnerships, and revenue delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and execute the European go-to-market strategy.
Generate, manage, and close new CDMO development and GMP manufacturing opportunities.
Build and maintain a high-quality commercial pipeline across preclinical, clinical, and commercial stages.
Establish strategic partnerships with biotech, pharma, and ATMP developers.
Lead commercial negotiations and contract discussions.
Act as the senior European point of contact for clients and partners.
Work closely with technical, manufacturing, and QA teams to align commercial strategy with operational delivery.
Represent the company at key industry events and within the European biotech ecosystem.
Support future European team build as the business scales.

Required Experience

5+ years’ experience in Business Development or Commercial Leadership within: Biologics CDMO
Proven success operating as a solo regional contributor with full revenue ownership.
Strong understanding of GMP manufacturing, tech transfer, and CMC strategy.
Established network within the European biotech and pharma landscape.
Track record of closing long-cycle, high-value enterprise deals.
