Opportunity:

Registered Nurse - PACU

Job Details:

• 2 years of experience preferred with all surgeries except cardiac procedures
• Experience with pediatrics required and critical care strongly preferred
• Must help with coverage in Pre-Op holding area
• Level II trauma experience preferred
• Patient ratio of 2:1 during day shifts
• Daily census of 30 patients with 21 beds available
• Minimum of 1 weekend shift per contract required
• Call required as part of position
• Must have experience recovering patients from Plastics, Urology, Dental, and GYN procedures
• Experience required with monitoring patients with nerve blocks, chest tube insertions, central lines, intubation, and A-lines
• Care for patients of all ages from 8 months to 100+ years old
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIH
• Cerner charting system experience preferred
• Must be available to work some holidays
• Orientation required for Pre-Op Holding area
• On-site drug screening required with comprehensive panel testing
• All documentation due 3 business days prior to start date

Facility:

This healthcare facility operates a comprehensive PACU and Pre-Op holding area that handles a wide variety of surgical procedures across all age groups. The facility performs all types of surgeries except cardiac procedures and maintains Level II trauma capabilities. The PACU and Pre-Op areas are connected, allowing for flexible staffing between units while maintaining focus within the perioperative services department. The facility provides extensive interdisciplinary support including respiratory services, interpretation services, radiology, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and transportation services.
