Opportunity:

RN - Stepdown

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts on a 12-bed neuroscience stepdown unit
• 13-week assignment with 36 or 48 hours available per week
• Every other weekend and every other holiday schedule
• Patient ratio of 1:3 for days, nights, and weekends
• 24 hours of orientation provided
• Care for patients transferring from Neuro ICU including neuro trauma, subarachnoid/intraventricular/intracerebral hemorrhage patients
• Manage ENT cancer patients post tumor resection and flap reconstruction
• Provide post-operative spine patient care and handle wide range of neurological problems
• Must have 2 years of nursing experience
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS (can submit pending)
• Epic charting system experience required
• Must adhere to float policy within scope of practice
• Can submit with VA license pending but must have license in-hand by Wednesday before start date
• BSN preferred
• Nursys verification required for submittal
• Care for adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients
• Up to 40 hours of approved time off available per contract
• Non-billable modules up to 16 hours during orientation

This academic medical center operates a specialized 12-bed neuroscience stepdown unit that utilizes critical care and neuroscience principles at the intermediate level. The facility provides comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, transportation, and unit secretary support. The organization maintains high standards for patient care and offers advanced treatment for complex neurological conditions including neurosurgery, neuro trauma, stroke care, and spinal cord injuries.
