Med/Surg Tele Registered Nurse (RN) – Travel Nursing Job in Columbus, Ohio

Travel Nurse Job Details
- Assignment Length: 16 weeks (January 12, 2026 – May 4, 2026)
- Location: Columbus, Ohio 43210 – Central Ohio healthcare jobs
- Setting: Medical Oncology and Benign Hematology (17 East and West)
- Shifts: 12-hour rotating shifts (Days: 07:00–19:30, Nights: 19:00–07:30)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Scheduling: Self-scheduling requests considered before final schedule is posted
- Orientation: First week Mon–Fri dayshift; second week 36 hours on-unit with preceptor
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,940–$1,990
- Floating: Required to other Med/Surg Oncology units as needed
- Weekend Coverage: Variable based on unit needs
- Flu Vaccine: Required (medical exemptions only)
Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg Tele RN experience in a hospital or acute care setting
- Active Registered Nurse license (compact RN license or Ohio state RN license required at submission)
- Graduate of an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
- BLS certification (required for all nursing jobs)
- Experience with Epic EMR charting system
- Ability to interpret and monitor telemetry for adult and geriatric patients
- ONS Chemo certification preferred for oncology nursing jobs
- Previous travel nursing experience preferred
- Must provide 2 professional references (at least 1 from nursing leadership or manager/director)
Med/Surg Tele RN Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric oncology patients with solid tumor cancers (breast, lung, prostate, pancreatic, colon, esophageal)
- Administer medications, including chemotherapy (if ONS certified), and manage central lines and ports
- Monitor and interpret telemetry, manage dysrhythmias, and respond to rapid response situations
- Implement infection prevention and fall prevention protocols in accordance with healthcare standards
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including PT, RT, pharmacy, and social services
- Document patient care accurately using Epic EMR
- Float to other Med/Surg Oncology units as needed to support patient care
- Participate in self-scheduling and adapt to variable weekend and holiday coverage based on unit needs
