ER RN Travel Nursing Job Details
- Location: Columbus, Ohio (ZIP 43210) – Ohio nursing jobs
- Contract Length: 13 weeks (Start: January 5, 2026 – End: April 6, 2026)
- Healthcare Setting: Oncology Pod – Emergency Department
- Employment Type: Travel Registered Nurse
- Shifts: 3x12-hour rotating shifts per week (Day: 07:00–19:30 / Night: 19:00–07:30)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Estimated Weekly Salary: $1,720 - $1,770
- Patient Ratio: 1:4
- Weekend Coverage: Required
Emergency Room RN Qualifications
- Active compact or Ohio state Registered Nurse (RN) license required at time of application
- Minimum 2 years of recent Emergency Department (ED) nursing experience
- Oncology nursing experience preferred, but not required
- Proficiency with EPIC electronic health record (EHR) system required
- Graduate of an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
- Required certifications:
- BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
- Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only)
- Submission of 2 professional references (at least 1 from a manager/director or formal leadership role)
- Ability to float within the department as needed
ER RN Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality emergency nursing care to adolescent, adult, pediatric, and geriatric patients
- Perform IV starts, phlebotomy, and monitor telemetry
- Manage dysrhythmias and administer blood products and IV vasopressors
- Interpret arterial blood gases (ABGs) and dysrhythmias
- Care for ventilated patients and those requiring CPAP/BiPAP
- Implement isolation precautions and triage patients efficiently
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including respiratory therapy, radiology, social services, pharmacy, and unit secretary
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation using EPIC
- Float to other nursing units as required based on departmental needs
