Opportunity:

RN - PICU Inpatient

Job Details:

• Work night shifts from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM
• 2 years PICU experience required
• Maintain 2:1 nurse to patient ratio
• Manage and oversee complex and high acuity/critical pediatric patients
• Perform Q1 hour minimum assessment and monitoring
• Provide culturally and developmentally appropriate direct clinical care
• Manage ventilator, BiPAP, CPAP, and Oscillator equipment
• Conduct cardiac rhythm (EKG) assessment and analysis
• Monitor and trend continuous vitals including cardiac rhythm, respiratory rate, O2 sat, BP, arterial line waveforms
• Manage and titrate vasoactive, sedation, and insulin drips
• Run and analyze bedside POCT (iSTAT, ABG/VBG)
• Assist with bedside procedures including sedated LP, arterial line placement, CVL/PICC placement, intubation, chest tube placement
• Support and/or lead pediatric codes using PALS algorithm
• Perform sterile dressing changes
• Required certifications: RN license (Single State or Multi-state Compact), BLS, PALS (within 180 days)
• Associates or Bachelor's degree in Nursing required (Bachelor's preferred)
• Less than 1 year experience acceptable with completion of accredited nursing school

Facility:

This healthcare facility features a specialized 6-bed Pediatric Intensive Care Unit providing highly specialized care for infants, children, and adolescents who are seriously ill or injured. The unit operates as the only community-based PICU in the region and maintains a collaborative environment with pediatric specialists including PICU intensivists, nurses, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, speech therapists, physical therapists, and child life specialists. The facility emphasizes open communication among team members and utilizes state-of-the-art technology to provide exceptional pediatric critical care.
