Med/Surg RN Job Details
- Location: Geneva, NY 14456 (Finger Lakes region)
- Healthcare Setting: Acute Care – Medical-Surgical (Med/Surg) Unit
- Assignment Type: Travel Nursing Position
- Start Date: January 6, 2026
- End Date: April 4, 2026
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks
- Hours per Week: 36 (Full Time)
- Shift: Day/Night Rotation (12-hour shifts), every other weekend & holidays, plus 2 on-call shifts per 4 weeks
- Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1800-$1930
Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Active New York State Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Minimum 1 year of recent experience as a Med/Surg RN in an acute care setting
- BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA or RQI required)
- NIHSS certification
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays
Med/Surg RN Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality, compassionate nursing care to adult, adolescent, and geriatric patients with diverse medical conditions
- Assess patient and family needs, develop individualized care plans, and collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams
- Monitor patient progress, document care, and adjust plans as needed
- Promote patient safety, comfort, and emotional support in a healing environment
- Educate patients and families on self-care, lifestyle changes, and post-discharge instructions
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and ongoing professional development
- Comply with infection prevention strategies and hospital safety protocols
