Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Active New York State RN License – required for New York nursing jobs
- BLS and ACLS certifications
- Minimum 1 year of clinical experience in a Med/Surg environment as a Registered Nurse
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays
Med/Surg RN Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality, compassionate patient care in an acute Med/Surg setting
- Assess patient needs, develop individualized care plans, and collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams
- Monitor patient progress and adjust care plans as needed
- Specialize in cardiac care, including telemetry monitoring
- Educate patients and families on self-care, lifestyle changes, and post-discharge instructions
- Promote a healing environment by offering emotional support and comfort
- Comply with infection prevention strategies and healthcare safety protocols
- Document nursing care provided and patient/family responses
- Participate in quality improvement activities and ongoing professional development
