Med/Surg RN Job Details
- Location: Cedar Rapids, IA (52402) – Iowa healthcare jobs
- Setting: Nursing Float – Med/Surg & Stepdown Units
- Assignment Type: Travel Registered Nurse
- Start Date: December 8, 2025
- End Date: March 9, 2026
- Duration: 13-week contract
- Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM), 3 shifts/week, 36 hours/week
- Weekend/Holiday: Every other weekend & holiday rotation required
- On-Call: None
- Electronic Medical Record: EPIC EMR
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $1880–$2020
Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Active Iowa RN license – Registered Nurse jobs in Iowa
- Minimum 1 year recent Med/Surg RN experience (3+ years preferred; first-time travelers welcome with 3 years of experience)
- BLS certification (AHA)
- Proficiency with EPIC EMR
- Ability to float between Med/Surg and Stepdown units
- Experience administering and titrating nitro, heparin, amiodarone
- Background in caring for med/surg, neurology, and oncology patients
- Submission of work history/resume, skills checklist (completed within 1 year), license verification, certifications, and references
Med/Surg RN Responsibilities
- Deliver safe, effective, and compassionate nursing care to a diverse patient population
- Utilize the nursing process for assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care
- Float between Med/Surg and Stepdown units as needed
- Administer medications and manage infusions, including nitro, heparin, and amiodarone
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Accurately document care using EPIC EMR
- Participate in weekend and holiday rotations
