Hiring Process

A step-by-step guide

We want you to be as prepared as possible regarding our hiring process.

At Encompass Health, our hiring process is designed to ensure a smooth and supportive experience for all candidates. Here’s what you can expect when applying for a position with us:

Step 1

• Explore Opportunities and Apply: Start by exploring our current job openings on the Encompass Health Careers page. When you find a role that aligns with your skills and career goals, simply complete the online application and upload your resume. Not ready to apply, join our Talent Community or sign up for job alerts.
• Job Hunting Tip: Explore our collection of videos to get an inside look at a day in the life of roles at our company and learn more about the qualifications required. Make sure to check them out before applying!

Step 2

• Application Review: Our recruitment team carefully reviews each application to identify candidates whose skills and experience match the role. If your background, licensure and skills align with what we’re looking for, a recruiter will reach out to you for an initial conversation.
• Job Hunting Tip: Many of our roles require a clinical license, so please review the qualifications carefully before applying to increase your chances of hearing back from our recruiters.

Step 3

• Initial Interview: Candidates selected for the next step will be invited to a phone or video interview with a recruiter. This is a chance for us to learn more about your experience and for you to ask any questions you may have about the role and Encompass Health. At this time, you will be also be asked to provide references for a formal reference check.

• In-Depth Interviews: Depending on the role, you may be invited to additional interviews with team members, hiring managers, or other leaders within the organization or the local hospital. These interviews help us understand how you’ll contribute to our company and they give you a deeper look into our culture and values.

• Job Hunting Tip: Before your interview with us, research Encompass Health via our corporate website at www.encompasshealth.com.

• Job Hunting Tip: Choose references who can speak specifically to your skills and accomplishments related to the job you’re applying for. Brief your references ahead of time on the role and remind them of relevant projects or achievements you worked on together.

Step 4

• Formal Offer, Background Check & Drug Test: Once interviews have been completed, if you are selected, we will notify you with your conditional offer. Once the offer has been accepted, we will begin the pre-employment screening process, including background checks and certification/license verifications. Once you are officially cleared, we will give you a formal start date.

• Job Hunting Tip: Stay attentive to emails and calls from Encompass Health during this period to help expedite the hiring process.

• Onboarding: Once you pass your background check and drug test, we’ll guide you through your onboarding, setting you up for success as you star
