Key Job Details – PACU RN Travel Assignment
- Location: Portland, Maine (04102) – Maine healthcare jobs
- Unit: Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) – 21 bays
- Assignment Length: 13-week travel nursing contract
- Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1880 - $2020
- Hours: 36 hours per week
- Shift: 3 12-hour night shifts per week (8:00 PM – 8:00 AM), minimal call, rotating weekends
- Employment Type: Travel Registered Nurse
- Dress Code: Green or blue scrubs provided, or personal scrubs
PACU RN Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Maine or compact state
- Minimum 1 year of PACU or critical care nursing experience (5+ years preferred)
- Certifications required: ACLS, PALS, BLS
- Experience in post anesthesia care and Phase 2 recovery
- ICU nursing background highly desirable
- EPIC EMR experience preferred
- Ability to float to other hospital units as needed
PACU Nurse Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality nursing care to post anesthesia and critical care patients
- Monitor patient recovery and respond promptly to changes in condition
- Operate clinical equipment: Abbot Pumps, CAD pumps, Venodynes, Philips monitors
- Maintain accurate patient documentation using EPIC EMR
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams for optimal patient outcomes
- Float to other units within the hospital as required
- Comply with facility policies and professional nursing standards
