Med/Surg RN Job Details

- Unit: Med Surg 4 West
- Setting: 30-bed Medical-Surgical unit
- Assignment Type: Travel Registered Nurse contract
- Start Date: December 22, 2025
- End Date: March 23, 2026
- Duration: 13-week travel nursing assignment
- Shift: 12-hour nights, 4 shifts per week (48 hours/week)
- Weekend/Holiday: Every 3rd weekend and holiday rotation required
- Float Requirement: Willingness to float to all campuses (Iowa Methodist MC, Iowa Lutheran, Iowa Methodist)
- Scrubs: Navy Blue, solids
- Estimated Weekly Salary: $1880 - $2020
Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Active Iowa RN license (Registered Nurse)
- BLS certification (AHA required)
- Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg nursing experience
- At least one completed travel nursing assignment in the past 12 months
- Strongly prefer post-op surgical and spine care experience
- Ability to float across multiple healthcare campuses
- Skills checklist completed within 1 year of submission
- One supervisory performance evaluation/reference from the last 2 years
Med/Surg RN Responsibilities
- Deliver professional nursing care to medical-surgical patients, including post-op and spine cases
- Utilize the nursing process as part of an interdisciplinary healthcare team
- Administer medications and manage IV drips (including heparin)
- Monitor, assess, and promptly report changes in patient status
- Maintain accurate documentation using EPIC EMR
- Float to other campuses as needed to support patient care
- Participate in weekend and holiday rotations as required
