Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg position in New York requiring a NY RN license, prior acute care travel experience, and Epic proficiency.
Responsibilities
- Position is in an acute care hospital setting on a Medical Surgical unit
- Cares for adult and geriatric patients including medical, post-surgical, orthopedic, bariatric, spine, and general surgery cases
- Uses Epic EMR and prior experience with Epic is required
- Work schedule is 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM with every other weekend and holiday required
- Floating to other units may be required
- Will care for both medical and post-surgical patient populations with a focus on adults and geriatrics
- Completion of an on-site, timed, closed-book ECG exam is required; study materials will be provided
- A facility physical is required at candidate’s expense
- Flu vaccination required unless medically or religiously exempt with documentation submitted at least 10 days before start
- First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
Requirements
- Active New York RN license required
- Minimum 2 years of acute hospital nursing experience required
- Must have prior travel nursing experience
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Epic charting experience required
- Must reside outside the following NY counties: Warren, Washington, Fulton, Montgomery, Rensselaer, Saratoga, Schenectady, Columbia, Greene, Dutchess, Ulster, Albany
- Candidates who were staff at this facility in the past year or AMC network facilities in the last six months will not be considered
