PCU Travel Nurse Job Details
- Location: Brattleboro, Vermont (05301) – Southern Vermont healthcare jobs
- Unit: Progressive Care Unit (PCU) – 25 beds
- Assignment Type: Travel Registered Nurse (RN)
- Start Date: December 19, 2025
- End Date: March 20, 2026
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
- Shift: 12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- On-Call: Possible call
- Estimated Weekly Salary: $1990 - $2130
Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Active or eligible Registered Nurse (RN) license in Vermont
- Minimum 2 years of recent PCU nursing experience
- Experience with telemetry monitoring and cardiac drips
- Previous acute care and travel nursing experience preferred
- BLS certification (AHA required)
- Updated resume and PCU-specific skills checklist (within the last year)
- Two supervisory references from the past 2 years
- Flu vaccination (declination forms available)
PCU Nurse Responsibilities
- Deliver direct patient care in a fast-paced, acuity-adjustable Progressive Care Unit
- Utilize the nursing process to provide safe, effective, and compassionate care
- Monitor and manage patients requiring medical-surgical and telemetry levels of care
- Care for higher acuity patients, including those on BiPap, titratable drips, or with hemodynamic instability
- Collaborate with hospital medicine, care management, physical therapy, and respiratory therapy teams
- Delegate interventions and maintain a safe environment for patients and staff
- Partner with patients, families, and the healthcare team to plan and coordinate care
