Med/Surg RN Job Details
- Location: Pittsfield, Massachusetts (01201) – Berkshires region
- Healthcare Setting: Medical-Surgical Unit (20–34 beds)
- Assignment Length: 13-week travel nursing contract
- Start Date: October 27, 2025
- End Date: January 26, 2026
- Shift: 12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $1930 - $2070
- Patient Ratio: 1:6 typical
- Dress Code: Personal scrubs (any color)
- Weekend/Holiday Coverage: Every other weekend and two major holidays required
Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Active Massachusetts RN license required
- Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg nursing experience
- Tele experience required; Basic Dysrhythmia course completion strongly preferred
- Experience with Meditech Expanse preferred
- Current BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), and NIHSS certifications required
- Willingness to float to any Med/Surg unit as needed
- Must have own vehicle for transportation
- COVID-19 vaccination (dose date on or after 10/3/23) or approved exemption (mask required)
- Permanent address must be included in application; candidates within 50 miles of facility not eligible
- Work history, current skills checklist (within 1 year), and one supervisory signed reference (from past 2 years) required
Med/Surg RN Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care to medical-surgical patients in a dynamic hospital environment
- Monitor, assess, and document patient status and clinical progress
- Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to achieve optimal patient outcomes
- Float to other Med/Surg units as assigned
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and safety standards
- Participate in orientation and ongoing nursing education
- Offer compassionate support to patients and their families
