Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a high-acuity Labor & Delivery position requiring a FL or compact license, BLS, ACLS, and NRP.
Responsibilities
- Work in a 19-bed Labor & Delivery unit within a hospital setting
- Patient ratios range from 1:1 to 1:2 for high acuity obstetric cases
- Epic EMR is used for documentation
- Float required with travelers prioritized for floating, including potential to float to sister campuses
- 12-hour night shifts, three shifts per week
- On-call required: 12 hours in a 6-week scheduling period
- Expected to manage high acuity Labor & Delivery patients and function as core staff
- Scrub color requirement is galaxy blue and/or white
- No block scheduling requests are permitted
- All requests for time off must be provided prior to assignment acceptance
- Orientation begins on a Friday, with a combination of remote and onsite requirements for ID/badge
- Travelers are welcomed and expected to integrate with established staff culture
- Compliance with COVID and flu vaccination policies required
Requirements
- Active FL or compact RN license required
- Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery nursing experience
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NRP
- AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring course completed and passed
- AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring course and EFM certification preferred
- Degree from an accredited nursing program or at least 5 years of RN experience
- Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility's address; strict radius rule applies
