Travel Nursing Job Details
- Location: Brownwood, TX 76801 (Texas travel nursing jobs)
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $1910–$2040 per week
- Assignment Length: 13-week travel RN contract
- Start Dates: 10/27/2025 or 11/10/2025
- Shift: Nights, 3x12-hour shifts per week (19:00 – 07:00)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Unit: Labor & Delivery-Recovery (L&D RN jobs)
- Patient Ratio: 1:2
- Weekend Coverage: 6 weekend shifts in 6 weeks
- Orientation: 80 hours (includes modules)
Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas or compact state (Texas RN jobs)
- Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery nursing experience required
- Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP (required for L&D nurse jobs)
- Experience with Allscripts or Altera charting systems preferred
- Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
- Ability to complete required labs within 72 hours of offer acceptance
- Travel nursing experience preferred
- Must reside at least 150 miles from facility (local candidates not accepted)
Labor & Delivery Nurse Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care to laboring mothers and newborns in a Level II Maternal Facility
- Assist with vaginal deliveries, cesarean sections, and postpartum care
- Administer medications, blood products, and manage IVs
- Monitor fetal heart rates and perform non-stress tests (NSTs)
- Support breastfeeding and provide lactation education to new mothers
- Educate parents and provide discharge teaching
- Utilize specialized equipment such as fetal monitors, Panda warmers, and Tot Guard
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, and social services
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and adhere to hospital protocols
