Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Long Term Care position requiring prior travel and LTC experience along with comfort working with dementia patients.

Responsibilities

Work in a long term care setting within a skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility
Patient population includes residents with dementia
12-hour day shifts with every other weekend required
Travelers must work two out of the following four holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas, Christmas Eve, and New Year's Day
Floating to other units is required as needed
Reliable personal transportation is required due to lack of public transport
Vehicles should be equipped with all-season or snow tires from November through April
Preplanned time off must be communicated up front as RTO will not be honored after assignment starts
Block scheduling requests are not permitted
Clear communication and adherence to assigned work schedules is expected

Requirements

Active VT or compact RN license required; commitment to apply for VT license within 24 hours for non-VT licensed travelers
Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association required
Minimum of 2 years RN experience required
Previous travel nursing experience required
Long term care experience required
Must be comfortable caring for dementia patients
