Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced Med/Surg Telemetry RN for a night shift contract requiring recent Epic experience and prior travel assignments.
Responsibilities
- Work in a hospital Med/Surg unit with telemetry patients
- 12-hour night shifts with required coverage every other weekend
- Expected to work two out of four specified holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas, Christmas Eve, and New Year's Day
- Patient care includes NG tube and peripheral IV insertion, as well as bedside telemetry strip interpretation
- Uses Epic EMR system, recent experience within the past 2 years is required
- Responsible for managing telemetry patients and performing NG tube and peripheral IV insertions
- No block scheduling is available for any reason
- Reliable personal or rental vehicle is strongly recommended as public transportation is not accessible in this area
- During winter months (November – April), vehicles should be equipped with all season or snow tires
Requirements
- Active VT or compact RN license required at time of consideration
- Certifications: AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) required; NIHSS must be completed prior to start; Telemetry certification preferred
- Minimum 5 years' Med/Surg Tele experience or 3 years' dedicated tele experience required
- Must have prior travel experience, with two completed assignments in 300+ bed facilities or prior work at a UVMHN acute care facility
- Recent Epic experience within the past 2 years is nonnegotiable
