Cardiac Stepdown RN Job Details
- Location: Lynchburg, VA 24501 (Virginia nursing jobs)
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks (option to extend up to 16 weeks)
- Start Date: November 17, 2025
- Shift: 12-hour day shifts
- Hours per Week: 36
- Estimated Weekly Salary: $1780–$1910
- Employment Type: Travel RN, On-Site
- Unit: LAC Resource Team (Intermediate Care/Cardiac Stepdown, IMCU)
Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Active Virginia or Compact Registered Nurse (RN) license (required at start)
- Minimum 2 years of recent RN experience in cardiac stepdown, IMCU, or telemetry (prior travel nursing experience required)
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIH Stroke Scale
- Complete work history with explanations for any gaps over 90 days
- Skills checklist and RN license copy required for submission
- Ability to work 2 out of 3 winter holidays
- Preferred: Charge nurse experience and Cerner EMR proficiency
- Local candidates within 60 miles are not eligible for this travel nursing job
Cardiac Stepdown RN Responsibilities
- Deliver exceptional nursing care to med-surg, telemetry, cardiac IMCU, neuro, and CVA patients
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams, supporting students and new hires
- Administer medications, monitor patient status, and respond to changes in condition
- Accurately document patient care using Cerner EMR
- Participate in orientation and ongoing clinical education
- Follow hospital policies, infection control, and patient safety protocols
