Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced Emergency Department RN with a current or pending NY license, Epic experience, and relevant certifications for a 32-week night shift assignment.
Responsibilities
- Work in the Emergency Department of a hospital
- Night shifts are 12 hours each, with the schedule including every other weekend or as adjusted for unit needs
- Assignment runs for 32 weeks
- Care for patients requiring emergency care and trauma
- Staff use Epic EMR and must have recent experience
- Holiday work is required on 2 out of these 3 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas/Christmas Eve, and New Year's Day/Eve
- No block scheduling is allowed
- There are no on-call requirements
- All employment gaps of more than 90 days must be explained for consideration
- Bi-weekly orientation sessions are held on Mondays
- Reliable personal or rental vehicle is required, as public transportation is not available in the area
- Vehicles should have all-season or snow tires November through April
- Holiday coverage is mandatory for 2 out of these 3 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas/Christmas Eve, and New Year's Day/Eve
- Local candidates are accepted
- No first-time travelers will be considered
Requirements
- Active NY RN license or proof of application and applied date required for consideration
- Minimum of 1 year recent Emergency Room RN experience is required
- AHA certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC (active or proof of class prior to start)
- NIHSS certification required prior to start
- Epic EMR experience within the past 2 years required
- Prior travel nursing experience preferred
- Charge nurse experience is preferred
