Job Description
American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN with EPIC experience for night shifts managing mixed acuity patients, with a valid OH or compact license required.
Responsibilities
- Hospital-based Med/Surg Tele unit with mixed acuity including both progressive care and medical-surgical patients
- Typical patient ratio is 1:5
- Night shifts are 3x12 hours from 19:00 to 07:30; day/night rotating schedule option available
- Oncology experience preferred but not required
- Required to float within units of equivalent or lower acuity
- Uses the EPIC electronic medical record system
- Self-scheduling is available; schedule requests are submitted for consideration
- First week of orientation is Monday through Friday dayshift; second week includes 36 hours of on-unit precepted orientation
- Initial orientation is structured and split between classroom and on-unit preceptorship
- All RTO (requested time off) must be submitted prior to contract signing and built into the agreement
- Locals are accepted at the same rate as travelers
- All candidates must be able to complete OH fingerprinting quickly upon contract signing
- Former employees may return as travelers if away from the facility for at least 6 months
- Current employees are not eligible as travelers at this location
Requirements
- Active OH or compact RN license in hand at the time of consideration
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification required
- Strong IV starts, telemetry monitoring, and tracheostomy management skills required
- EPIC EMR experience required
- Degree from an ACEN or CCNE-accredited nursing program required
- At least 2 professional references, including one from a manager, director, or formal leader
- Previous travel nursing experience preferred but not required
