We are on the hunt for a driven and detail-oriented BSA Audit Officer to join our dynamic team in the Mortgage industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring our company's compliance with the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and other related anti-money laundering (AML) regulations. The role involves conducting regular audits, identifying potential areas of compliance vulnerability and risk, and implementing corrective action plans. The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 5 years of experience in audit and BSA compliance.
Responsibilities:
1. Conduct regular and comprehensive audits to ensure compliance with the BSA and other related AML regulations.
2. Develop, initiate, maintain, and revise policies and procedures for the general operation of the BSA/AML compliance program.
3. Coordinate with different departments to direct compliance issues through appropriate channels for investigation and resolution.
4. Identify potential areas of compliance vulnerability and risk, develop and implement corrective action plans for resolution of problematic issues.
5. Provide reports regularly on the status of the compliance efforts and changes in the regulatory environment that might impact the company.
6. Ensure proper reporting of violations or potential violations to duly authorized enforcement agencies as appropriate.
7. Collaborate with other departments to ensure the BSA/AML compliance program is integrated into the daily operations of the company.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in audit and BSA compliance.
3. In-depth knowledge of the BSA and AML regulations, as well as the mortgage industry.
4. Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to analyze complex legal and regulatory materials and produce clear, practical guidance.
5. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively communicate complex compliance issues to non-technical stakeholders.
6. High level of integrity and professional ethics.
7. Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, pay close attention to detail, and deliver results under pressure.
8. Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS) or Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM) certification is a plus.
