Travel Nursing Job Details
- Location: Plattsburgh, NY 12901 (New York nursing jobs)
- Assignment Length: 16 weeks (potential extension up to 32 weeks)
- Start Date: December 1, 2025
- Shift: 12-hour nights
- Hours per Week: 36
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $2100-$2250
- Setting: Resource Pool – Float between Med/Surg Telemetry units (Oncology, Ortho, Urology) and Emergency Department Hold
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Holiday Requirement: Work 2 out of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas/Christmas Eve, New Year's Day/Eve)
- Documentation System: EPIC
Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Active New York RN license (or proof of application with applied date)
- Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg Telemetry RN experience
- Current AHA BLS certification (required)
- NIH Stroke Scale certification (required prior to start)
- EPIC experience within the past 2 years (required)
- CMSRN certification preferred
- Ability to float between medical-surgical and telemetry units as scheduled
- Reliable personal or rental transportation (public transportation not accessible)
Key RN Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult patients (ages 25-99) across Med/Surg Telemetry and ED Hold units
- Float between Oncology, Orthopedics, Urology, and other telemetry units as needed
- Perform unit-specific procedures: IV starts, bladder scans, blood draws from central lines, glucose monitoring
- Collaborate with CNAs, PCTs, and unit clerks to ensure high-quality patient care
- Document patient care accurately using EPIC EMR
- Maintain compliance with hospital policies, dress code (navy blue & white scrubs), and infection control standards
- Participate in orientation and ongoing clinical training
