Position Description The Anne Arundel County Office of Planning and Zoning is seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented professional to serve as an Executive Management Assistant I.
This appointed, at-will position provides comprehensive administrative and project support to the Planning and Zoning Officer (PZO) and plays a vital role in advancing the department's strategic and operational goals.
Examples of Duties and Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Major Duties and Responsibilities - Manage scheduling, meeting coordination, and event logistics, including hosting and providing administrative support as needed.
- Oversee the Planning and Zoning Officer's inbox, calendar, and document management systems.
- Facilitate departmental objectives and goals by assisting with strategy development and implementation.
- Conduct research and analysis; develop, provide, and coordinate reports and briefings for the PZO.
- Draft, proofread, and manage correspondence on behalf of the PZO, ensuring accuracy and professionalism in all outgoing communications.
- Coordinate and track complex projects related to communications, customer service, and financial administration.
Minimum Qualifications Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in public administration, business administration, or a related field, and thorough experience providing executive-level assistance.

This is an appointed, at-will position serving at the discretion of the Planning and Zoning Officer. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong communication and organizational skills, sound judgment, discretion, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
