Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Pediatric Oncology position requiring APHON certification and chemotherapy administration skills.
Responsibilities
- Work in a pediatric oncology and bone marrow transplant (BMT) unit within a short-term acute care, Level I Trauma Center
- Night shift, three 12-hour shifts per week from 19:00 to 07:00
- Average patient ratio is 1:3
- Must float to sister BMT unit as needed
- Epic EMR is used and prior experience is preferred
- Weekend work is required every other weekend
- Responsibilities include caring for pediatric oncology and BMT patients and administering chemotherapy
- Must complete pre-start modules prior to employment
- Must be willing to float between pediatric oncology and the BMT unit
- Auto-approval for up to 7 days of requested time off; longer RTO requires facility approval
- Returning staff must have a two-year gap from prior employment to be considered
- First-time travelers are accepted
Requirements
- Active RN license or eligibility with pending license accepted
- Minimum 2 years of pediatric oncology nursing experience required (1.5 years accepted if Level I trauma or travel experience)
- APHON Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Provider certification required
- Chemotherapy administration certification required
- CPHON or CPON certification preferred
- Trauma center experience at a large facility required
- Flu vaccine required with no declinations accepted
- COVID vaccination with booster required unless eligible for religious or medical exemption
- One professional reference required
- Must reside at least 75 miles from the facility to be eligible
