Position Summary Reporting to the Deputy Commissioner of Insurance and providing advice and recommendations to the Commissioner, Deputy Commissioner, and other agency leadership, this position is responsible for monitoring and analyzing emerging and relevant life insurance and property and casualty insurance policy issues, as well as developing and implementing policy initiatives. The position serves an important role in ongoing cooperative relations between the Office of the Commissioner of Insurance (OCI), the Governor's Office, federal and state agencies and legislative offices, other state insurance departments, the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) and other insurance related organizations and regulatory bodies. This role involves collaboration with a variety of external stakeholders to ensure effective policy development and compliance with federal and state regulations and to support OCI's mission.

Salary Information Starting salary for the Policy Initiatives Advisory-Administrative will be between
$45.00 - $51.85 per hour , plus great benefits. This classification is assigned to pay schedule/range 81-02. A 2-year career executive trial period may be required.

Qualifications Minimally qualified candidates will have all the following: - Experience in policy development/implementation to support regulatory strategies and operations.
- Experience in researching and interpreting policies, procedures, or other complex documents.
- Experience in establishing and maintaining effective and collaborative working relationships with a diverse group of internal and external stake holders (E.g., executive leadership, federal and state agencies, etc.).
In addition, well-qualified applicants will have one or more of the following: - Experience in monitoring and analyzing emerging and relevant life, property and casualty, or other insurance policy issues.
- Experience in policy development/implementation related to technology and/or the protection of data.
