Operating Room RN Job Details
- Location: Burlington, Vermont 05401
- Assignment Length: 6 weeks (10/16/2025 – 11/30/2025)
- Healthcare Setting: Level 1 Trauma Academic Medical Center
- Shift: 10-hour rotating shifts (Day/Evening); typically three day shifts plus one off shift per week (off shift options: 8:45am–7:15pm, 10:45am–9:15pm, or 12:45pm–11:15pm)
- Hours per Week: 40
- Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $2610 - $2800
- On-Call: One weekday call per week plus one 24-hour call per four-week schedule block
- Holiday Requirement: Work 2 out of 4 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, Christmas Eve, New Year's Day)
Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license – Vermont or compact state
- BLS certification (American Heart Association required)
- Minimum 2 years of recent Operating Room RN experience
- Prior travel nursing experience in the United States
- Experience in a large academic Level 1 trauma center
- EPIC EMR experience within the past 2 years (required)
- Ability to circulate all specialties except CVOR cases
- Ability to scrub General, GU, GYN, ENT, Eyes, Plastics, Laparoscopic, Trauma, Thoracic, and Vascular cases
- Flexible scheduling to meet unit and patient care needs
- Reliable personal or rental vehicle required (public transportation not accessible)
- Vehicles must have all-season or snow tires November–April
- All employment gaps over 90 days must be explained
OR RN Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality perioperative nursing care in a fast-paced, Level 1 trauma operating room
- Circulate and scrub a wide variety of surgical cases (excluding CVOR)
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Demonstrate flexibility with rotating shifts and on-call responsibilities
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation using EPIC EMR
- Adhere to hospital policies, procedures, and safety standards
- Participate in bi-weekly orientation as needed
