Schedule
Shifts include 7a-7p, 7p-7a, 11a-11p, and 3p-3a, with rotating self-scheduling. A minimum of every other weekend is required, along with holiday coverage.
Job Description
The Emergency Room Registered Nurse will provide care to a diverse population, including neonate through geriatric patients. This role requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with the capacity to handle higher nurse-to-patient ratios as census changes frequently. The ER RN will collaborate with a team of specialists and manage critical situations effectively.
Responsibilities
- Manage patient care in a busy emergency department setting.
- Administer medications and treatments as ordered.
- Perform EKGs and start IVs as needed.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including crisis clinicians and advanced practice providers.
- Provide respiratory treatments and support as required.
- Document patient care accurately in the EPIC system.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Minimum of 1 year clinical experience in a specialty area.
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC (must be active or proof of class required).
- NIHSS certification required prior to start.
- New York State RN license or proof of application.
- Experience with EPIC documentation system within the past 2 years is non-negotiable.
