Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position in New York requiring an active NY RN license and AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring certification.
Responsibilities
- Position is within a 349-bed acute care teaching hospital with a level 2 trauma designation
- Labor & Delivery unit features 9 labor beds, 6 triage beds, and 3 PACU beds
- Handles approximately 2,500 deliveries annually with a high-risk OB population
- Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
- Responsibilities include labor support, fetal monitoring interpretation, circulating c-sections, and post-anesthesia care
- Travelers may provide care in triage, PACU, and labor settings as needed
- Local candidates within a 60-mile radius are eligible at a reduced rate
- Travelers are required to complete online training modules prior to starting assignment
- Past employees may require a formal review process before returning
- Timekeeping is managed via Kronos system
- Scrub requirements will be specified during onboarding
Requirements
- Active NY RN license required
- Current AHA certifications: BLS and NRP
- AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring certification required (Advanced EFM not accepted)
- Experience circulating in the OR for c-sections and providing PACU/recovery room care
- Recent Labor & Delivery nursing experience required
- Minimum 3 years of current L&D experience preferred, especially in a high-risk OB setting
- Two recent professional references from prior managers within the past year
