Job Summary Purpose and Scope The Jr. Public Schedules Coordinator provides frontline support for producing, stocking, and monitoring paper schedule cards and related information products for the MBTA. The position is heavily field-oriented.
Duties & Responsibilities - Stock and maintain paper schedule cards at up to 75 MBTA Subway and Silver Line locations, ensuring fixtures are neat, organized, and fully supplied.
- Collect and properly dispose of expired schedule cards at stations.
- Inspect schedule fixtures (location, size, condition) and submit recommendations for improvements to the more senior coordinator.
- Track inventory levels, record deliveries in a central log, and flag low-stock locations for resupply.
- Maintain accurate records and spreadsheets related to schedule quantities, deliveries, and costs.
- Operate and monitor the paper schedule request ticketing system for station employees and fulfill approved requests by delivering additional cards from the Scheduling office.
- Update schedules information on the MBTA website and at select transit stations/stops as directed.
- Package and ship schedule maps, posters, and schedule cards to districts and stations according to established distribution lists.
- Basic edits to schedule card artwork and preparation of digital files for printing.
- Update and maintain databases used to supply schedule information to the Authority's website; develop new databases as needed.
- Support the preparation of alternative format schedule cards (Braille, tactile, large-print) by gathering files and coordinating with vendors.
- Respond to routine inquiries from customers, co-workers, and/or vendors in a courteous and professional manner, and when necessary, escalate complex requests to the more senior coordinator or leadership.
- Uphold the rights and interests of the Authority while building and maintaining an effective relationship with employees.
- Drive a company or personal vehicle to visit work sites and to assist at emergencies and/or events as needed.
- Perform related duties and projects as assigned.

- One (1) year of proofreading and/or design and layout experience as a Graphic Designer or in transit service planning or transit scheduling.

- Ability to use Word, Excel, and databases.
- Ability to use Adobe Creative Cloud or similar graphics and publishing software.
- Handle sensitive and confidential information in an appropriate manner.

Substitutions Include - A High School Diploma or GED with an additional five (5) years of directly related experience substitutes for the bachelor's degree requirement.

- A nationally recognized certification or statewide/professional certification in a related field substitutes for one year of experience.

- Intern / co-op staff must be enrolled full or part-time in an accredited educational program and maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 2.5 for the entire duration of the internship / co-op. Additionally, interns / co-ops must have valid work authorization and U.S. Social Security Number prior to starting their positions and throughout the duration of their program.
