Principal Product Safety Engineers – Maritime

Locations: Glasgow, Hampshire, Surrey & Bristol

Salary: £60,000 – £70,000 (depending on experience)

The successful candidate will require a BPSS prior to starting.

Copello are working with a leading organisation within the Maritime sector to recruit experienced Principal Product Safety Engineers. This is a fantastic opportunity to take on a pivotal role in safeguarding some of the most advanced and complex systems in the industry. You’ll be working on high-profile projects, influencing safety strategy, and ensuring compliance across a wide range of cutting-edge technologies.

What You’ll Be Doing

Taking ownership of product safety activities, from planning through to delivery and reporting
Facilitating hazard identification (HazID), hazard analysis, and risk management processes
Defining safety arguments and developing comprehensive safety cases to demonstrate compliance
Managing hazard logs, assurance evidence, and all supporting safety documentation
Conducting specialist analysis to inform and support risk assessments
Leading product safety assessments for major subsystems and advanced technologies
Providing technical guidance and leadership within multi-disciplinary project teams

Your Skills & Experience

Strong practical knowledge of HazID, hazard assessment and risk management techniques
Experience leading technical teams and guiding safety activities through the full lifecycle
Hands-on expertise in producing safety arguments for complex systems
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels
Confident in presenting findings and facilitating workshops or safety reviews
