Responsibilities
ECS is offering an exciting opportunity for an entry-level Building Enclosure Associate II to join our Pacific Facilities team in Irvine, CA. In this role, you'll work on projects involving inspections, testing, assessments, and commissioning of building enclosures for existing structures. You'll collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality consulting solutions to a diverse range of facilities and clients.
- Conduct testing and consulting services for the built environment, including condition assessments, specialized testing, building envelope consulting, forensic investigation analysis, and repair design, among other facilities-related services
- Management of projects including but not limited to:
- Inspections of Building Enclosures
- Building Enclosure Testing
- Building Enclosure Assessments
- Air Leakage Testing
- Construction Quality Assurance Observations
- Roofing Assessments
- Design Specification Review
- Field Performance Testing
- Building Enclosure Commissioning Consulting
- Demonstrate responsibility, organization, reliability, time management, and self-motivation
- Assist with the preparation of reports, proposals, and project deliverables
- Contribute to a variety of teams and enclosure-related projects, from inception to completion, in both new and existing construction
- Collaborate and interact with senior staff members on a variety of projects
- Schedule and oversee the work of facilities technicians
- Mentor and support the development of other staff
- Promote a safe workplace and proper use of PPE
- Perform other reasonable duties as assigned by management
Qualifications
- B.Arch or M.Arch accredited by National Architectural Accrediting Board (NAAB) or BS in Engineering, Building Science, or related degree from an ABET accredited college/university preferred
- 0-2 years of relevant experience required
- Internships and hands-on construction experience preferred
- In lieu of education, 4 years as ECS Facilities Staff Associate or equivalent combination of experience, certification, and education required. Experience with non-destructive testing preferred.
- Knowledge of building codes, materials, field investigation methods, and scientific principles as they relate to building enclosure performance.
- Basic knowledge of structural, architectural, and building systems, design, and/or analysis
- Understanding of technical testing and evaluation process
- Interest in project management, mentoring staff, and construction field services
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Proficient with computers and MS Office applications, with the ability to quickly learn new software and digital tools. Experience with AutoCAD and Revit is preferred but not required.
- Ability to work effectively in teams, and collaborate with clients, peers, and subordinates
The expected pay range for this role and location is $85,000 - $100,000/year. The final agreed-upon compensation will be determined based on specific location and other individual qualifications.
