Full-Time Assistant Business Administrator Location: Burlington County Special Services School District / Burlington County Institute of Technology
Position Summary BCSSSD and BCIT is seeking a skilled
Assistant Business Administrator to support the Board Secretary/School Business Administrator in the financial and administrative management of the district. The successful candidate will assist with district accounting records, budget preparation, payroll administration, audit compliance, and the effective supervision of Business Office and ESU Business Office staff.
Qualifications - NJ School Business Administrator Certificate or Certificate of Eligibility (required)
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in school business office budget preparation and administration
- Knowledge of statutory and code requirements related to school budgeting
- Understanding of the principles and practices of financial accounting and reporting procedures consistent with statute, code, and GAAP requirements
- Familiarity with statutory requirements and accepted practices in insurance, purchasing, transportation, food services, and payroll
- Demonstrated organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Key Responsibilities - Assist in the preparation, monitoring, and analysis of district budgets
- Prepare monthly financial statements, reconciliation reports, and revenue/expenditure updates
- Oversee accounting processes, payroll, internal audits, and financial controls
- Supervise business office staff and support professional development within the Business Office and ESU Business Office
- Manage grant-related financial documentation and ensure federal, state, and local compliance
- Coordinate with external auditors and prepare required audit schedules
- Oversee purchasing, insurance, transportation, food services, and risk management functions
- Support board relations through meeting preparation, minutes, correspondence, and other administrative needs
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to district, state, and federal standards
Salary & Benefits - Annual Salary Range: $80,000 - $105,000 (commensurate with experience)
