Department Details This position is open to both candidates who are currently a Certified Ophthalmic Assistant or interested in obtaining this certification within a year.
Associate Ophthalmic Assistant Pay Range: $18.00 - 26.50
Ophthalmic Assistant Pay Range: $19.50 - 29.00

Job Summary Perform preliminary screening examinations and/or tests to facilitate the diagnosis and treatment by the physician. Ophthalmic Assistant
Assist the physician with procedures and care of the patient. Collects subjective and objective ophthalmic data from the patient or caregiver and communicates this data to the provider. Must possess and maintain certification as a Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) by the Joint Commission of Allied Health Personnel in Ophthalmology (JCAHPO).

Qualifications Ophthalmic Assistant Must be a graduate of an accredited Ophthalmic Assistant program or equivalent experience and hold certification as a Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) by the Joint Commission of Allied Health Personnel in Ophthalmology (JCAHPO). Basic Life Support Certification required.
Must be a Certified Ophthalmic Assistant by the Joint Commission on Allied Health Personnel in Ophthalmology and maintain continued COA certification. Basic Life Support Certification required.
Associate Ophthalmic Assistant High School graduate is preferred. Will provide training and education for required skills.
Previous health care experience or training in ophthalmology, optometry, and/or optical office preferred. Basic Life Support Certification required.
