Document Program Manager

Piper Companies is looking for a Document Program Manager to join a fast-growing life sciences company located in Muskegon, Michigan, with the potential for relocation assistance.
Responsibilities of the Document Program Manager include:
• Lead the document control department and manage a growing team, including goal setting, performance feedback, and employee development
• Oversee the full lifecycle of controlled and non-controlled documents (SOPs, policies, forms, plans) within the Document Management System (DMS)
• Ensure compliance with internal procedures and external regulatory standards (GLP, etc.)
• Standardize documentation processes and organize MasterControl following a recent acquisition
• Develop training materials and conduct sessions on document management best practices
• Maintain SOP roadmaps, initiate periodic reviews, and communicate document releases and obsoletions
• Support authors in writing and formatting SOPs, including process mapping and revision tracking
• Conduct audits of documentation practices and implement improvements to increase efficiency
• Maintain controlled copies for redundancy and business continuity
Qualifications for the Document Program Manager include:
• Bachelor's degree required
• 2-5 years of experience in a GLP-compliant laboratory preferred
• 2-5 years of people management experience (team building, development, conflict resolution)
• Experience with electronic signature tools and workflow automation
• Familiarity with configuring MasterControl, SharePoint, and SmartSheets preferred
• Certified Records Manager designation or similar is a plus
• Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities
Compensation for Document Program Manager includes:
• Rate Range: $76,000 - $107,000 annually
