Executive Assistant provides high-level administrative and organizational support to the Division of Health Benefits (DHB) leadership team and plays a key role in advancing the division's mission, goals, and objectives while promoting the statewide core values of
Accountability, Customer Service, Safety & Health, and Teamwork & Collaboration . The role supports the
Chief Medical Officer (NC Medicaid) and DHB leadership by managing complex calendars, anticipating needs, handling confidential matters, and coordinating proposals and initiatives.
Key responsibilities include overseeing technical and administrative support activities, managing travel and expense reimbursements, processing invoices for physician contractors, scheduling meetings, and assisting Associate Medical Directors with correspondence and operational tasks. The position may supervise clerical and technical staff, streamline office procedures, and lead special projects requiring independent judgment and discretionary decision-making. Regular interaction with DHB leadership, internal staff, other departments, and external stakeholders requires professionalism, policy interpretation, and a strong commitment to effective communication and collaboration.
