Reclaimed Water Coordinator . The position is scheduled to work both in the office and in the field Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Current City of Chandler employees may only hold one position and are not eligible for additional part-time or secondary positions within the City of Chandler.

Who we are Chandler was the first city in Arizona to receive accreditation of our water and wastewater operations by the American Public Works Association, the toughest accreditation to achieve in the industry. The Utilities Division is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the City's water treatment plant, 32 water wells, and 19 booster station facilities, and shares another water plant with the Town of Gilbert. The Utility also operates wastewater and reclaimed water infrastructure, including industrial wastewater/ brine reduction and three wastewater facilities. We treat over 64 million gallons of fresh water and treat over 30 million gallons of wastewater per day to class A+ reclaimed water to meet irrigation and industrial demands. Our water is received from four primary water sources: Salt River, Verde River, Colorado River and ground water supplied by our extensive well field facilities. We also use advanced treatment processes to recycle over 7 million gallons of industrial wastewater and return it back for industrial reuse. Service is provided to the City of Chandler residential, commercial, and industrial users by a network of 1,224 miles of active water mains, 942 miles of active sewer mains, and 92 miles of reclaimed water mains.
Who we are looking for Our new team member will have a passion for customer service, teamwork, and collaboration. We're seeking a proactive and technically skilled individual to serve as the Reclaimed Water Coordinator, a key coordinating role focused on overseeing the City's complex and growing reclaimed water system. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical abilities, experience with water or utility systems, and a collaborative approach to problem-solving.
In this role, you'll coordinate daily reclaimed water operations across multiple facilities, ensure efficient delivery to major customers, and act as the central point of communication between internal teams and external stakeholders. You'll analyze system data, develop water delivery schedules, monitor regulatory compliance, and support long-term planning efforts.
We're looking for someone who can balance operational detail with big-picture strategy, build strong working relationships, and take initiative in a highly dynamic environment, helping the City achieve long-term sustainability and water reuse goals.

Minimum Qualifications • A High School Diploma or GED; and
• 5 years of experience in operation and/or maintenance of a Reclaim water system, treatment plant, facility or distribution system; and
• An ADEQ Grade 2 Wastewater Treatment Certification upon hire or promotion; and
• An ADEQ Grade 2 Water Distribution Certification within six (6) months hire or promotion; and
• A valid Driver's License with an acceptable driving record; or
• Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work.
This is a regular full-time position, subject to a 6-month probationary period. A register of qualified candidates will be active for 4 months should another position become available.
The City of Chandler will conduct a driving record check and a reference check as a condition of employment. An offer of employment is contingent upon acceptable results. All applicants hired will be required to be fingerprinted with successful results as a condition of continued employment.
