Shift Details
Type: 10 hour day shift / 4 shifts per week
Call Requirements: 7-12 days of call per month; call every 3rd to 4th weekend (call response time is 30 minutes); potential holiday call.
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated RCIS or Cath Lab Tech professional to join our team. This role involves performing duties for both diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization, as well as other procedures in the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory and Electrophysiology Suite.
Key Responsibilities
Patient Care:
- Assist in pre-procedure, intra-procedure, and post-procedure environments under the supervision of the physician.
- Function as scrub/assistant in the sterile field, control room monitoring, and second circulator in the procedure room.
- Prepare vascular access sites, monitor patients receiving moderate sedation, and operate hemodynamic monitoring equipment.
- Perform procedures including coronary catheterization, pacemaker placements, pericardiocentesis, and more.
Laboratory Preparation:
- Prepare and operate all equipment correctly, ensuring emergency equipment is functional.
Safety Practices:
- Adhere to radiation safety standards to protect patients and staff.
- Implement Standard Precautions and assess equipment functionality prior to use.
Maintenance and Inventory:
- Participate in supply ordering and maintain adequate inventory of supplies and equipment.
- Perform routine quality control checks on radiological equipment.
Community Education:
- Act as an educator for patients and the community, promoting cardiovascular health and wellness.
Requirements
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
- Preferred: Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) credential through Cardiovascular Credentialing International.
