Full Salary Range $56,183 - $100,538 Annually
Hiring Range : $73,707 - $93,135 Annually
Work Schedule: Monday- Friday 8 am - 5 pm. Occasional evenings and weekends as needed.
Primary Duties/Brief Description of Work: This is a high-level role tasked with developing, overseeing and coordinating City-wide Violence Prevention Initiatives.
Directs the violence prevention initiatives organized through the Community Safety Department
• Develops and/or revises and coordinates the implementation of the strategic plan for addressing gun violence.
• Collects, maintains, analyzes, reports, and interpret data related to violence in Greensboro.
• Works with staff to conduct routine problem analysis to understand ongoing trends in violence.
• Develops policies and policy recommendations related to reducing violence in Greensboro.
• Coordinates among city-wide violence prevention initiatives including law enforcement- led programs, violence interruption programs, youth engagement programs, group violence intervention programs, reentry and case management.
• Monitors the quality and outcomes of violence prevention programs and aligns with the Department's framework on transparency, accountability and reporting.
• Develops and implements strategies to ensure community members, faith leaders and other grass-roots community organizations are involved and supported in violence prevention initiatives.
• Provides technical support and builds networks to empower communities to address root causes of violence.
• Facilitates interagency meetings, including strategic, tactical and case-management meetings.
• Fosters key interagency relationships including with multiple partners
• Identifies and pursues funding and new partnerships relevant to the department mission..
EXEMPT and is not subject to the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act.
Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in public health, criminal Justice, social science, psychology, or related social science/research field.
- At least three (3) years of experience working directly with a population of those engaged with violent crimes and/or incarceration.
- Have an understanding of group violence interruption.
- Experience planning for intervention services. Conflict resolution/de-escalation training.
- Experience working effectively with culturally and socioeconomically diverse populations.
- Experience conducting case management, outreach and engagement, and/or street outreach or public health planning.
Preferred Qualifications: - Bachelor's Degree in n public health, criminal justice, social science, psychology, or related social science/research field
- Experience working with and supporting violence intervention teams (i,e.) initiatives and/or coalitions/community-based organizations, managing projects, and training in group facilitation and interviewing
