The Los Angeles County Office of Education (LACOE) is seeking a Senior Executive Assistant to provide high-level, confidential administrative support to the Board of Education.
The Well Qualified Candidate Will Possess the Following Knowledge: - Organization of LACOE and functions of the various departments
- Applicable sections of the Education Code, and other laws, rules, regulations, policies and procedures affecting LACOE operations
- General office practices and procedures, including the preparation of business correspondence and the operation of standard office equipment
- Proper English usage, spelling, grammar, punctuation and vocabulary
- Basic arithmetic concepts
- Procedures involved in monitoring and processing budgets, expenditures and payroll
- Operation of a personal computer, Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat
- Input and data retrieval procedures for databases and computerized systems
- Filing and record-keeping techniques

Required Education and Experience Education: Graduation from high school or equivalent.
Experience: Four years of secretarial experience for the administrator of a large and complex division, department or agency.
Additional Requirements : College course work or training certificates in communications, public relations, business or public administration, or from a field closely related to the knowledge and abilities requirements from an institution of higher learning accredited by a regional accrediting organization recognized by the Council of Higher Education or a recognized training agency are preferred. Foreign degrees and credit units require translation and equivalency established by an agency recognized by the Commission on Teacher Credentialing. Some positions require a valid California driver's license and the availability of private transportation or the ability to provide transportation between job sites.
