The Los Angeles County Office of Education (LACOE) is seeking a Senior Executive Assistant to provide high-level, confidential administrative support to the Board of Education.
The Well Qualified Candidate Will Possess the Following
Knowledge:

Organization of LACOE and functions of the various departments
Applicable sections of the Education Code, and other laws, rules, regulations, policies and procedures affecting LACOE operations
General office practices and procedures, including the preparation of business correspondence and the operation of standard office equipment
Proper English usage, spelling, grammar, punctuation and vocabulary
Basic arithmetic concepts
Procedures involved in monitoring and processing budgets, expenditures and payroll
Operation of a personal computer, Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat
Input and data retrieval procedures for databases and computerized systems
Filing and record-keeping techniques

Required Education and Experience Education: Graduation from high school or equivalent.
Experience: Four years of secretarial experience for the administrator of a large and complex division, department or agency.
Additional Requirements : College course work or training certificates in communications, public relations, business or public administration, or from a field closely related to the knowledge and abilities requirements from an institution of higher learning accredited by a regional accrediting organization recognized by the Council of Higher Education or a recognized training agency are preferred. Foreign degrees and credit units require translation and equivalency established by an agency recognized by the Commission on Teacher Credentialing. Some positions require a valid California driver's license and the availability of private transportation or the ability to provide transportation between job sites.
