Job Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Contracts Administrator to join our contracts team. This is a critical role responsible for supporting our sales organization by efficiently reviewing, drafting, and negotiating a high volume of sales contracts. This role reports directly to the VP, Contracts and Administration in our Centreville, VA office. Position is in-office, therefore, there is a requirement to be within a commutable distance to our office.
Key Responsibilities: - Sales Team Collaboration: Work closely and collaboratively with sales teams to understand deal structures, provide guidance on contractual terms, and ensure timely execution of agreements (including master service agreements, software license agreements, professional services agreements, and purchase orders) to timely meet sales targets.
- State & Local Government Expertise: Specialize in reviewing, drafting, and negotiating contracts with state and local government entities, demonstrating a strong understanding of relevant regulations, procurement processes, and unique contractual requirements (e.g., standard terms, indemnification, data security, compliance with specific state statutes).
- Contract Drafting & Negotiation: Draft, review, redline, and negotiate a variety of commercial contracts, ensuring compliance with company policies, legal requirements, and business objectives. Proactively identify and mitigate contractual risks.
- Problem-Solving & Solutions: Proactively identify and resolve contractual issues, offering practical solutions to facilitate deal closure while protecting the company's interests across varying solution types (e.g., SaaS, on-premise, professional services).
- Ad-Hoc Support: Assist with other legal and administrative tasks as needed to support the broader legal department.
Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Legal Studies, or a related field.
- 4-7 years of progressive experience as a Contracts Administrator, with a significant portion of that experience in a high-volume, fast-paced environment, preferably within the software or technology industry.
- Demonstrated expertise in state and local government contracting is highly preferred.
- Proven ability to manage a large volume of contracts simultaneously with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication (written and verbal) skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing competing priorities effectively.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Working knowledge of Salesforce and Conga is a plus.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and a dynamic business environment.
Work Environment: The noise level in the work environment is quite minimal even though the employee works in an office setting, at an individual workstation, using telephone and computer.
Physical Demands: - Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a printer/copy machine.
- Working conditions may include occasionally performing the requirements under certain time and resources constraints.
- The person in this position frequently communicates in person and via, email and telephone.
