Weekly Breakdown:
Weekly Gross: $2,753.00 Per Week
On W2(Taxable): $828.00 Per Week
Stipend(Non-Taxable): $1,925.00 Per Week
Job Summary:
The George Washington University Hospital is seeking experienced Postpartum/Mother Baby Registered Nurses for 12-hour AM/PM rotating shifts. The ideal candidate will provide safe, competent, and compassionate care to postpartum women, newborns, and GYN surgical patients in accordance with facility policies and national nursing standards. This is not a Labor & Delivery position.
Required Experience & Qualifications:
- Current RN license in Washington, DC (or compact license eligible) – Required
- Minimum 2 years of Mother Baby/Postpartum experience – Preferred
- Experience with vaginal delivery, C-section, and GYN surgery patients – Required
- Graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved RN program – Required
- BSN – Highly Desired
Certifications Required (All Current):
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
Responsibilities:
- Provide evidence-based postpartum and newborn care following vaginal deliveries and C-sections
- Monitor mother and baby, including vital signs, pain levels, bleeding, bonding, and breastfeeding
- Provide care for post-op GYN surgical patients
- Educate patients and families on newborn care, postpartum recovery, medications, discharge instructions, and warning signs
- Communicate and collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary team members
- Demonstrate strong organizational, documentation, and communication skills
- Uphold Service Excellence standards and practice Patient Centered Care in all interactions
