REQUIRED SKILLS / CERTS / EXP:
Minimum Years of Experience: 2 years, (prefer 1-3 years experience for all candidates)
Traveler Experience: Unit accepts first time travelers - would need 1-3 years busy interventional cath lab
Locals Accepted / Rate Difference: $15 rate decrease for travelers that live within 50 miles of facility
Skills: Circulate, Conscious Sedation, Telemetry
Certs: ACLS, BCLS, Graduate from accredited school & NH Licensure
JOB DETAILS:
Target Ratios: 1:3-4
Shift: 8hr Days Monday - Friday 7:30a-4:00p OR 10hr Days 4x10
Call Requirement: call required, every 2-3 weekends
Float Requirement: None
Weekend Requirement: Every 2-3 weeks on call
PATIENT DIAGNOSES: Routine left and right heart cardiac caths, PCI, STEMI patients, Device implants, IABP, Impella. Occasional simple EP studies and ablations. Potential to do cardiac stress testing if desired.
The ratio is 3-4 staff plus 1 doctor in the procedure room. We have more staff outside of the procedure room doing TEE/CV and stress testing. We don’t do our own pre and post. We need someone who can circulate elective and emergent cardiac cath/PCI.
SPECIAL PROCEDURES / UNIT DETAILS: The Invasive Cardiology Nurse provides care to all age groups referred with various systems abnormalities. He/She assesses/evaluates patients and families in a collaborative manner. He/She demonstrates accountability for decisions. The Invasive Cardiology Nurse identifies, facilitates, and evaluates outcomes of nursing care for an individual patient or group of patients utilizing the nursing process. He/She coordinates all aspects of and provides technical/medical expertise to medical staff for all adult and pediatric diagnosis interventional cardiology procedures performed within their section. He/She documents relevant patient information in writing on all patients undergoing cardiology procedures in accordance with standards of documentation. The Invasive Cardiology Nurse works under the general supervision and is accountable to the RN Clinical Manager for nursing practice.
SPECIAL EQUIPMENT: GE Mac Lab, EPIC, IABP and Impella.
UNIT SYSTEMS (Medication, Documentation, Communication): Pyxis, Mac Lab and Epic, SBAR, Mac Lab safe handoff
UNIT ORIENTATION: 24 hours, Hours very on travel experience
SCRUBS: Any
