Shift: Day Shift: 3x12-Hour (07:00 – 19:30) / Night Shift: 3x12-Hour (19:00 – 07:30)
Weekly Breakdown:
Weekly Gross: $ 2,269.00 Per Week
On W2(Taxable): $ 792.00Per Week
Stipend(Non-Taxable): $ 1,477.00 Per Week
Job Summary: The Registered Nurse will provide direct patient care in a high-acuity Surgical Oncology Unit (12 East and West), delivering care to adult and geriatric patients with various oncological and post-surgical needs. This is a mixed acuity unit with Medical-Surgical and Progressive Care (PCU) level patients. Nurses will be assigned to Med-Surg patients and must work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team in a fast-paced, teaching hospital environment.
Job Responsibilities:
Provide high-quality, evidence-based care to oncology surgical patients
Monitor and assess patient conditions, interpret telemetry and dysrhythmias
Administer medications including IV antibiotics, insulin drips, heparin drips
Manage tracheostomies, chest tubes (Pleur-evac/Emerson), CPAP/BiPAP
Respond to and manage oncologic emergencies (e.g., cytokine release syndrome)
Perform blood transfusions, manage post-operative complications
Maintain accurate documentation using the Epic charting system
Support fall prevention and infection control protocols
Float to other acute care oncology units as needed
Preferred Experience & Skills:
Oncology nursing experience
Chemotherapy monitoring experience
Experience in a teaching hospital or Level I trauma center
Experience with B450 monitors, GE telemetry, Alaris pumps, Stryker beds
Certifications Required:
Basic Life Support (BLS) – Required
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) – Preferred
ONS Chemotherapy Certification – Preferred
