MJHS Health System is one of the largest not-for-profit health systems in the Greater New York area, founded in 1907 by four women in Brooklyn who envisioned neighbors caring for neighbors with compassion, dignity, and respect. Today that founding vision still guides a sprawling continuum of care that includes home health services, hospice and palliative care for adults and children, two skilled nursing and rehabilitation centers (Menorah Center in Brooklyn and Isabella Center in upper Manhattan), a research institute for palliative care innovation, and Elderplan/HomeFirst, a set of managed care health plans for Medicare and dual-eligible individuals. In 2023 alone, MJHS cared for approximately 61,700 New Yorkers across the five boroughs and surrounding counties.
