Vaco is working with a client company to find an experienced Payroll Coordinator to join their Stamford, CT Home Office. This role reports to the Payroll Supervisor and supports payroll activities for both US and Canadian employees. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and experienced in multi-state payroll processing. Strong Excel skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities are essential. WorkDay experience is a must. Key Responsibilities Partner with the Payroll Supervisor to process weekly payroll for over 2,500 US and Canadian employees. Ensure accuracy of wages, bonuses, overtime, and deductions before payroll processing. Maintain accurate payroll records and documentation. Adhere to company payroll policies and provide guidance to employees on procedures. Assist employees with payroll inquiries and resolve discrepancies professionally. Track weekly timesheets, submittals, and paid time reports. Support the company’s transition to the Workday platform, acting as a key change agent for the department. Job Qualifications 4–5+ years of experience in multi-state payroll processing. Knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations. Experience with Workday HRIS and payroll processes is ideal. Familiarity with other payroll software (e.g., ADP) is a plus. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel (formulas, pivot tables, VLOOKUP). Skills & Competencies Strong attention to detail and high accuracy. Excellent organizational and time-management skills. Ability to work independently and collaborate with Payroll and Accounting teams. Strong multi-tasking abilities. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with integrity. Strong problem-solving skills to resolve payroll discrepancies.
