About the Position Responsibilities Assist in complex cardiac surgeries, including serving as a first assistant and performing endoscopic vein harvesting using the Maquet-Getinge system. Manage comprehensive care for ICU and cardiovascular surgical patients, including rounding and evaluations across the CVICU, hospital floors, and outpatient clinic. Develop and implement detailed plans of care and follow-up based on diagnostic outcomes and patient needs. Order, interpret, and evaluate laboratory and diagnostic tests to guide clinical decision-making. Perform bedside procedures appropriate for the cardiothoracic patient population. Order medications and write prescriptions in accordance with facility policy and state regulations. Collaborate closely with surgeons, intensivists, and other healthcare professionals in a collegial, fast-paced environment. Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation and demonstrate expert clinical judgment while operating independently under physician supervision. Qualifications & Credentialing Education:

Master's degree in Physician Assistant Studies is required. Certification:

Active PA-C certification by the NCCPA is required. Experience:

Minimum of 3+ years of experience in cardiac or cardiovascular surgery and ICU patient management, or equivalent experience with endoscopic vein harvesting and first assisting. Licensure:

Unrestricted medical staff membership with appropriate practice privileges and an unrestricted Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) license with full prescriptive authority. Documentation:

A recent NPDB Self Query Report (conducted within the last 30 days) is required at the time of presentation. Certifications:

Current BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross. Compliance:

Must be eligible to provide reimbursable services for Medicare and Medicaid; no current or prior sanctions or exclusions from HHS/OIG or the GSA List of Excluded Individuals and Entities. Additional Requirements:
