### Exciting NICU RN Opportunity!
**Job Description:**
- **Position:** NICU RN
- **Specialty:** Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)
- **Experience Required:** Minimum 2 years of RN experience; at least 1 year in NICU required.
- **Shift:** Night shifts – 3x12 Hours (18:00 - 06:30)
- **Scheduling:** No block schedules; flexible scheduling may be needed.
- **Float Requirements:** May float to mother/baby unit for couplet care, if applicable.
- **Weekly Weekend Coverage:** Every other weekend, may occasionally exceed depending on unit needs.
- **Orientation:** 36 hours provided upon start.
- **Patient Ratios:** 1:2-3 based on acuity.
- **Census:** Approximately 190 births per month with 14 NICU beds.
**Essential Skills and Certifications:**
- **Certifications:**
- BLS
- NRP (Advanced preferred; will allow basic NRP if willing to obtain advanced before start).
- **Preferred Skills:**
- IV therapy
- Administration of blood and blood products
- Arterial line management
- Central line care and blood draws
- Medications including anti-seizure medications, antibiotics, and emergency medications.
**Clinical Experience:**
- **Patient Types:**
- Neonates < 24-28 weeks
- Neonates 29-34 weeks
- Neonates > 34 weeks
- **Unit Details:**
- Focus on prematurity, neonatal abstinence syndrome, sepsis, and jaundice.
- Interdisciplinary Support: Engage with respiratory, radiology, and social services teams.
- Special Procedures: Attendance at high-risk deliveries; perform spinal taps and support therapeutic hypothermia.
**Special Equipment:**
- Utilize CPAP, BIPAP, smart pumps, and feeding pumps.
- Manage high-frequency vents and oscillators.
